Celebs are keeping their physique in top form while hunkering down in lavish home gyms

Fitness-obsessed Hollywood stars have sculpted bodies that are the envy of fans around the world, but even celebs are having to go the extra mile to adapt as gyms have closed down during the coronavirus quarantine.

Of course, many of them have state-of-the-art home facilities to keep their sculpted physiques in tip top shape.

Here DailyMail.com breaks down how A-listers are keeping fit during the pandemic with some guidance from their very own personal trainers.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

The Jumanji star recently revealed that he and wife Lauren Hashian have spent their time in isolation ‘practicing making babies’.

‘Showed her why they call me The Rock,’ he added.

That’s certainly one way to keep fit while confined at his home in Powder Springs, Georgia.

As would be expected, the former professional wrestler, who has just turned 48, is also spending a large amount of time in his impressive home gym, which he dubbed the ‘Iron Paradise’.

Named Sexiest Man Alive in 2016, The Rock revealed that he is working out every single day since COVID-19 hit – sometimes even twice a day

The dad-of-three has posted a string of videos answering fan questions from the gym since lockdown began.

But he doesn’t want to show fans his workout routine so they don’t get too jealous and think he is an ‘a**hole’.

The Rock explained in an Instagram video caption on March 27: ‘My daily training helps me maintain my balance and mental stability and mental wellness.

‘And I don’t post my actual workouts because I’m sensitive (possibly over sensitive) and empathetic to the millions and millions around the world unable to workout in your local gyms.

This is the former professional wrestler’s ‘Iron Paradise’ home gym

‘One day, you will again. And when that day comes, you’re training will be NEXT LEVEL BEAST MODE.

‘I’m averaging about a 50/50 ratio of having good days to not so good, wobbly days. That ratio will improve,’ he said.

Named Sexiest Man Alive in 2016, The Rock revealed that he is working out every single day since Covid-19 hit – sometimes even twice a day.

And this week he gave fans a rundown of the weekly routine he uses to maintain his famously swole frame.

It includes core work every day, plus weightlifting for different muscle groups, compound movements and cardio.

He even works on his neck two to three times a week.

Very impressive – especially since The Rock also admitted that he is drinking plenty of tequila these days after launching his own brand of the liquor earlier this year.

Britney Spears

Fitness fanatic Britney has relied on an intense workout regime to keep going through her recent mental health struggles – just don’t ask her to spend too long on the treadmill.

The ‘Toxic’ singer recently announced she was back to using her home gym after it burned down due to an accident involving candles six months ago.

She followed up with a video which showed her doing exercises using dumbbells.

Before the New Year, Britney told her fans on Instagram that this year she would be focusing on acro yoga, a practice which combines yoga and acrobatics and usually requires a partner.

Aside from the gym, Britney’s $7.4million mansion in the LA suburb of Thousand Oaks provides plenty of options – including a three-hole golf course complete with sand traps, an infinity pool and a tennis court

Personal trainer Tony Martinez, who trained Britney for her hugely successful first Vegas residency, said: ‘When she first came to me she said she just wanted to feel good, in herself. And she loves her six-pack

She said: ‘I’m a beginner and it’s kind of hard to let go …learning to trust and letting someone else hold your body.’

Fortunately, Grammy-winner Britney, 38, has a great fitness buddy to keep her motivated – her personal trainer boyfriend Sam Asghari – although the pair are not quarantining together.

Asghari, 26, recently shared his tips for home workouts without gym equipment or weights, including squats using a backpack full of books.

Not that his famous girlfriend has a lack of equipment, of course.

The one thing she admits she can’t abide is any exercise involving the treadmill – telling fans last year that she ‘literally hates it’.

Personal trainer Tony Martinez, who trained Britney for her hugely successful first Vegas residency, said: ‘When she first came to me she said she just wanted to feel good, in herself. And she loves her six-pack.

‘She’s very fit. People don’t realize, she’s a really good tennis player. When it comes to sports, she’s very athletic.’

Cameron Diaz

When it was suddenly revealed she had became a mother for the first time in December at the age of 47, the Charlie’s Angels star’s toned physique prompted speculation that she may have used a surrogate.

And despite retiring from the spotlight to focus on her marriage with Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden in 2018, many still believe Diaz has one of the best bodies in Hollywood.

One reason for her incredible physique is that, as Diaz said herself, working out was never a ‘chore’ to her.

‘I look at it as something I get to do. I am grateful that I can move my body in that way,’ she explained.

Last week she opened up on social media about being a new mom, saying that her baby daughter Raddix is the ‘best, best, best part of my life’.

But despite her new full-time job as a mom, she will no doubt be sticking to at least some of the routine she learned from longtime personal trainer Teddy Bass.

Speaking about Diaz to Shape magazine, he said: ‘Cameron is highly genetically gifted without a doubt, but it’s her lifestyle choices of being so active and physical.

‘She’s constantly using her entire body with whatever she does.’

Other sports Diaz enjoys – such as surfing and snowboarding – are practically off limits while her home state of California is in lockdown.

But her toned physique also owes a lot to healthy eating habits, which she laid out in 2013 in The Body Book – The Law of Hunger, the Science of Strength and Other Ways to Love Your Amazing Body.

One of her dieting secrets? Take your porridge with zucchini rather than honey or jam.

Kristin Cavallari

The reality TV star announced last weekend that she and ex-NFL quarterback Jay Cutler are getting divorced, so she will likely have a lot of anger and upset to work off.

In the lead up to their bombshell separation Kristin, 33, and Jay, 37, have both been self-isolating with the three kids they share at their $4.2 million farmhouse just outside Franklin, Tennessee.

She has spoken in the past about her struggle to maintain a healthy body weight and working out so she doesn’t like look ‘too thin’.

That means her training has focused on strength training to gain and maintain muscle, although the skinny star is also a fan of Pilates.

Kristin previously told E! News: ‘I don’t know why or how, but after I had children, my body changed.

Kristin is seen bulking up at the Chicago Sports Institute with the help of her strength and conditioning coach, Mike Sorrentino

‘And now for me, it’s about trying to keep muscle on and gain muscle, so that I don’t look too thin.

‘It’s very easy, because I have no curves, that I can look really skinny and I don’t like that look.’

Personal trainer Michael Sorrentino, who worked with Kristin in Chicago when her soon-to-be ex-husband was playing for the Bears, also focused on nutrition to help her gain lean muscle.

Sorrentino focused on a ‘no carb breakfast’, nutrients throughout Kristin’s workout to boost performance, and lastly, a protein-infused shake ten to 30 minutes post workout to help repair the muscles and add size.

He has said: ‘By not having carbs your body will start burning fat from the nuts or from something like, say, avocado and that will give you energy and the protein level will give you energy as well. That’s something I stand behind no matter what.

‘[Kristin] has never missed a workout and is on board with anything I throw at her. She is one of my hardest working clients.’

Kim Kardashian

The reality TV queen worked hard to get the booty that broke the internet –  literally.

And lockdown shouldn’t be much of a problem for Kim as she is used to sculpting her hourglass figure at home.

In fact, things may be a bit easier for the mom-of-four now she can’t really be out and about as much.

Current trainer Melissa Alcantara has spoken about how in pre-coronavirus times they had to start training crazy early due to scheduling.

Kim Kardashian showed off her tiny waistline and toned arms in a suit that flattered her petite 5ft3in frame this week. This is the first time the star has been seen outside in several weeks

Kim is keeping up her workouts via FaceTime with her trainer Melissa Alcantara

Kim has a gym in her Hidden Hills, California mansion and also one at the Wyoming ranch and she showed off her FaceTime workout this week

Melissa said: ‘Her schedule is crazy, and mine is also crazy, so we work out really early in the morning at 6am.

‘She’s super responsible, she never cancels—she’s the best client and athlete you can have.’

Kim has even posted videos on social media which show her getting to it from her mansion’s garage at night while her kids were in bed.

Kanye West’s wife is known to favor resistance training with weights and other equipment over other types of exercise.

No prizes for guessing which muscle group she chooses to focus on above all others.

Gunnar Peterson, who was even invited to Kim and Kayne’s wedding after working on their fitness, said: ‘Every woman I’ve ever trained focuses on a look similar to Kim.

‘It’s always glutes number one, every time.

‘It’s not the wrong way to do it, metabolically it stokes the fire and you’re working at a higher rate, if you think big muscle group first or bang for your buck first, glutes work every time.

‘Obviously there’s a genetic predisposition but Kim works so incredibly hard.

‘Squats, lunges, sleds, and deadlifts. She’s not tall either.

‘She just trains – she’s one of the hardest working people inside and outside the gy’Just grind, grind, grind. The work Kim puts in, she knows it pays off.’

Jennifer Lopez

J-Lo and her soon-to-be husband Alex Rodriguez haven’t let coronavirus quarantine get in the way of their workouts.

Earlier this month the couple caused controversy when they were spotted leaving their local gym in Miami after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued a statewide stay-at-home order.

The gym seemed to have made an exception for Lopez, 50, and Rodriguez, 44, as it had a sign on the door saying: ‘This gym is not open. Stay home safe.’

It is no lucky coincidence that the Hustlers star blew fans away with her physique when she performed with Shakira at the Super Bowl in February.

The mom-of-two recently said: ‘I am 100 per cent convinced that working out is part of what makes me so happy’

Jennifer Lopez’s trainer David Kirsch is seen working out from his home

Despite having good genes, her toned body owes just as much to the effort she puts in to her workouts.

The mom-of-two recently said: ‘I am 100 per cent convinced that working out is part of what makes me so happy.

‘Dance has always been a huge part of my life and taking the time to move my body and do something that’s so good for me is key to my happiness.’

The superstar has also spoken of mixing up her workouts by employing two different trainers when she is in New York and Los Angeles who have totally different approaches.

With her New York guy David Kirsch the workouts tend to focus on high intensity interval exercises including kickboxing, circuit training, lunges, burpees, and ab workouts.

Meanwhile her workouts with LA trainer Tracy Anderson are more relaxed and freestyle, using arm weights to execute moves which work glutes, thighs and core.

Anderson also makes sure that Lopez sticks to a clean diet which cuts out all processed and refined foods.

The fitness guru says: ‘It’s all organic and it’s all very well thought out, with the balance of very high quality proteins and a lot of nutrient-dense food… everything is fresh.’

 The Beckhams

It’s turned out to be quite a stressful quarantine for the Beckhams following revelations that multimillionaire fashion empress Victoria used UK taxpayers’ money to furlough staff.

Fortunately, the family have plenty of exercise options to relieve the tension at the home where they are quarantining in the English countryside.

Their mansion in the Cotswolds comes equipped with an impressive home gym with rustic wooden décor, a tennis court and a cabin with a steam room and sauna.

Second son Romeo, 17, was seen practicing his soccer skills on a treadmill in the gym as he worked out in an Instagram snap posted by Victoria last month.

And the celebrity clan went for a bike ride to celebrate former Spice Girl Victoria’s 46th birthday last week.

Victoria 44, has spoken in the past about her dedication to physical fitness.

Interviewed in 2016 she said: ‘I am very, very disciplined in the way that I work out, in what I eat. ‘That’s how I’m happiest. I expect a lot from my body – I’ve got four kids, I work a lot, I travel.

‘For me to do all that, I have to eat healthily and work out.’

The soccer star takes up boxing to work out and is a proponent of a method known as ‘fitness snacking’, which is getting short bursts of exercise such as walking or cycling whenever possible

Posh Spice’s routine includes an early morning 45-minute session on the treadmill which combines uphill fast walking, jogging and running, followed by legs, arms and abs.

Meanwhile former soccer star David was of course an elite athlete during his sporting career and was voted Sexiest Man Alive in 2015.

The poster boy for stay fit dads is a proponent of a method known as ‘fitness snacking’, which is getting short bursts of exercise such as walking or cycling whenever possible.

He explained in 2018: ‘You don’t have to go and spend a huge amount of money going to the gym.

‘It’s the little things that make a difference.’

Jennifer Aniston

America’s sweetheart was gearing up for the much-anticipated Friends reunion special when the pandemic put production on halt.

And Jen, 51, will be putting herself through her paces in self-isolation at her Bel Air mansion so she’s fighting fit when the one-off episode is finally taped after lockdown.

‘Fighting fit’ is the right term too – because aside from yoga, the Emmy-winning star’s favorite workout is boxing.

Speaking of her love of the combat sport as a form of exercise, Jen told InStyle magazine in 2018: ‘It’s the longest workout I’ve actually stayed with consistently other than yoga.

‘There’s something about the mental aspect of boxing — the drills, your brain has to work, you’re not just sitting on a bike. It’s amazing. Boxing is a great way to get aggression out.’

‘You get a mental release of all this crap you’re taking into your ears and eyes every day and have little fantasy moments imagining who you’re punching.’

Jennifer Aniston’s favorite workouts include yoga and boxing. ‘It’s the longest workout I’ve actually stayed with consistently other than yoga,’ she said of the sport

Jen is trained by Leyon Azubuike, who said of the actress: ‘Anything I throw her way, she brilliantly attacks it to the best of her abilities’

Jen incorporates resistance bands, jump ropes and routines that work her core into her workouts.

Her trainer Leyon Azubuike told Shape magazine: ‘Anything I throw her way, she brilliantly attacks it to the best of her abilities. She’s always receptive and open to trying new things and learning new techniques as we work out.

‘We love to work the whole body, and we love to incorporate the resistance bands, jump ropes, a variety of routines that work the core.

‘We love to box. Jen, she loves boxing.

‘She’s constantly finding new ways to engage her mind and body in order to stay at and top her game.’

Jen is also known to follow the yoga hybrid created by celebrity instructor Mandy Ingber, which combines traditional yoga poses with toning exercises often done with weight.

She has spoken in the past about how it not only boosted her physical fitness but gave her an ‘inner strength’.

Ryan Reynolds

The Deadpool star recently made headlines when his wife Blake Lively joked about ‘swiping right’ on his hunky personal trainer Don Saladino.

If Lively, 32, can get away with trolling Reynolds about her thirsting over another man’s physique while the couple self-isolate together in their New York home it’s because her 43-year-old husband is pretty hunky himself.

It also helps that Saladino has been working with Reynolds for over a decade – and helps Lively with her fitness too.

Speaking to Men’s Health in 2018, the New York-based trainer said: ‘It’s been a lot fun to see how Ryan gets in better shape as he gets older.

‘The exercises are always changing. There’s different stresses on his body—he might be traveling a little bit more one week, flying on a plane, sitting and doing some writing,’ he said.

A typical workout for dad-of-three Ryan Reynolds consists of a 10 to 15 minute warm up followed by a full-body circuit

Ryan Reynolds has been working with personal trainer Don Saladino for over a decade and helps his wife Blake Lively with her fitness too

‘Not every day has to be a Level 10 on the workout meter. He comes in, he and I sit down and we have an understanding,’ Saladino said of Ryan.

‘I ask ”how are you feeling today,” and we make an adjustment to focus the intensity on how he’s feeling.’

A typical workout for dad-of-three Reynolds consists of a 10 to 15 minute warm up followed by a full-body circuit.

The warm up includes foam rolling, breathing exercises and stretching to get the body ready for a pounding.

Then it’s on to the circuit itself, which includes exercises such as kettlebell swings, front squats, bench press, pull ups and different forms of carry using kettlebells.

Saladino calls the the carry his ‘secret weapon’, explaining that he has 20 to 30 different variations.

‘They’re one of the biggest bang for your buck exercises you got,’ he said.

To finish off, Reynolds does five to 10 minutes’ cardio on the treadmill or stationary bike to elevate his heart rate.

Nicole Scherzinger

One of the biggest internet crazes during the coronavirus lockdown has been celebrity TikTok dance videos, and no one has mastered the format originally made popular by teenagers better than Pussycat Dolls star Scherzenger.

Just this week The Masked Singer judge killed it with a jazzercise routine danced to The Weeknd’s hit single Blinding Lights – complete with throw back 1980s fluoro aerobics outfit.

She has also recently posted videos working out to music with Scottish former rugby player boyfriend Thom Evans.

Scherzinger, who is believed to be self-isolating with Evans in Los Angeles, captioned one clip: ‘Getting our Tik Tok and a workout in.’

Aside from dance, the 41-year-old star has previously spoken about her love for running to keep fit.

Nicole Scherzinger has been using her time in lockdown to become a master of TikTok videos, taking part in the Blinding Lights challenge

The Pussycat Doll is a loyal client to personal trainer Adam Ernster and says she also takes up Bikram yoga

‘I love cardio and dancing is my number one thing that keeps me in shape. It’s mostly always preparing for videos and tours,’ she said

She said: ‘I like to run, I’m a runner. I like to do treadmill or outside running. I love cardio and dancing is my number one thing that keeps me in shape. It’s mostly always preparing for videos and tours.

‘That’s the biggest thing that keeps me in shape, the dancing. Sometimes I’ll do a Bikram Yoga class too.’

She also railed against dieting fads, saying: ‘I used to diet a lot and now I don’t believe in diets.

‘I believe in an overall balanced diet every day because once you get off that diet, you’re gonna binge and your metabolism’s gonna be messed up and you’re gonna be yo-yoing, roller coasting back and forth.

‘I did that for a long time, so it’s about just finding an overall balance everyday in your life, not depriving yourself of carbs or sweets and everything in moderation.

‘And if you don’t eat too late at night, that really helps as well.

‘Sometimes I do six smaller meals throughout the day, and sometimes I do the three main meals, breakfast lunch and dinner.’

Chris Martin

Over the last decade the Coldplay frontman went from scrawny to brawny thanks to his fitness regime.

And Gwyneth Paltrow’s ex-husband has no shortage of workout options to keep toned while he hunkers down with girlfriend Dakota Johnson at the property he owns in Malibu.

The main $14 million residence boasts its own gym and a yoga studio where Chris, 43, and Dakota, 30, can sweat it out together.

Recent aerial photos of the compound show it has plenty of other sporting facilities such as a multi-use court for basketball and tennis and an archery set up.

Yoga has long been a part of Martin’s life and is just one of the activities he used to enjoy with Paltrow.

Following the couple’s ‘conscious uncoupling’ in 2014 it was reported that he had hired a personal trainer recommended by rapper Jay Z who create a new exercise routine for Martin focused on boxing.

A source at the musician’s gym said: ‘Chris is a big fan of boxing and loves nothing better than working out with a punch bag.

‘Chris has been doing it for a little over a month now to get in shape for his forthcoming tour. ‘He doesn’t want ridiculous biceps, but he wants to build some definition in his skinny arms and improve his stamina.’

Martin is also known to jog and cycle and has been vocal in the past about his dieting.

The dad-of-two is a fan of the 6:1 diet – which involves fasting for one day a week – and claims it has even improved his creativity.

He said: ‘I did it and I found I could sing a bit better, and also I felt so grateful for food… and very grateful for everything in a way that I wasn’t so much before.’

Hugh Jackman

The Wolverine star has found a unique way of going to work on his famously buff body while quarantining with his wife and two kids in New York.

Earlier this month Jackman, 51, posted an Instagram video showing how he gets his cardio workout in by running up the stairs of his 15-story apartment building.

The Golden Globe-winning Aussie actor shot the clip in response to Roger Federer after the legendary tennis champion uploaded footage of himself completing drills in self-isolation.

Before panning to show the deserted stairwell, a panting Jackman said: ‘Roger, love those trick shots, unfortunately, we don’t have tennis courts at our place in New York City.

‘But we have something you guys don’t have which is a lot of this. Fifteen floors baby!’

Hugh Jackman is known for getting buff for his roles as Wolverine. He’s seen workint out with his trainer David Kingsbury

Jackman has also taken up rowing, seen working out at City Row last month

Jackman – who is currently starring in critically acclaimed HBO comedy-drama Bad Education – uses a combination of weightlifting and high intensity interval training to achieve his ripped X-Men physique.

Celebrity trainer David Kingsbury, who prepared Jackman for his role in ‘The Wolverine’, helped him make the transition to strength training to improve his size while keeping body fat to a minimum.

Kingsbury told Bodybuilding magazine: ‘He’s very motivated and adherent, so he doesn’t require a drill sergeant or babysitter.

‘We broke the training into two phases: the bulk and the cut. I like to bulk as clean as possible, with a better end result in sight.

‘I calculated his calories to achieve the leanest muscle gain possible and adjusted them to his requirements every day. We used a combination of low-intensity training and intervals to keep bringing the body-fat levels down while bulking.

‘The weight training remained more or less the same during the whole process, the only changes in his body fat levels came down to the volume of cardio he was prescribed and the amount of calories consumed.’

Angelina Jolie

She’s set to star as fierce warrior Thena in the much-anticipated Marvel movie The Eternals in November – as long as social distancing is over by then.

And Oscar-winner Angelina has the superheroine physique required for the role.

Despite concerns over extreme weight loss ever since she was a youngster and undergoing cancer-preventing surgery, the mom-of-six is still widely considered one of the most beautiful women in the world.

It’s an accolade that Angie – who turns 45 in June – has worked hard for in the gym throughout her career as one of Tinsel Town’s top stars.

The Maleficent actress is known to use circuit training, a form of body conditioning which blasts the body with high intensity aerobics and short breaks between exercises.

A typical routine includes dumbbell exercises, squats, lunges and crunches followed by 45 minutes of cardio work.

Celeb trainer Gunnar Peterson – who helped Angie achieve the astonishing physique she displayed in Tomb Raider 2 – described her as a ‘dream client’.

The fitness guru said: ‘She is comfortable and confident with who she is. She’ll do the work because she knows what it takes.

‘Look how long she has stayed looking good and performing well.

‘It’s not a flash in the pan, it’s longevity.’

Angie has also used a combination of martial arts Muay Thai and Krav Maga to keep in shape for her action roles.

But despite her commitment to exercise the dedicated humanitarian is not so keen on yoga, which she was forced to endure for her role as flying evil fairy Maleficent.

She explained: ‘I have no patience for yoga.

‘It’s not something I do easily because I’m not a still person.

‘But I was forced to do yoga because (to fly) you have to have your core strength to be able to hold yourself.

Mel Gibson

The Oscar-winning star is currently awaiting for the greenlight to reprise his famous role as loose canon cop Martin Riggs in the fifth and final Lethal Weapon movie.

But in the meantime Gibson, 64, is keeping himself in action hero shape at his $7.9 million beachfront home in Malibu.

The Braveheart actor and director is quarantining there with his girlfriend Rosalind Ross, 29, and their three-year-old son Lars Gerard.

Since he is no spring chicken, the star’s still impressive fitness levels have led to speculation that he may have had a little extra help.

Mel Gibson recently lost 30lbs in eight weeks with the help of his Australian fitness coach Samantha Jackson

Gibson is an avid gym goer

In 2013 and 2014 he was spotted at the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Centre, a hormone replacement clinic.

It came at around the time the dad-of-nine returned to his action roots for The Expendables 3 alongside the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Asked about steroids, Gibson said: ‘That’s just hard work, dude. Have you seen the side-effects of some of that crap? Forget it, that’s too scary.

‘I just want Sly to look good. And he’s not going to look good if he’s beating up a fat old man I have been working really hard at it. A lot of cardio and very light weight training, nothing heavy.’

More recently Gibson has been working with Australian personal trainer Samantha Jackson to keep his dad bod in check.

After striking a conversation with him at a restaurant in Sydney, Jackson advised Gibson on how to change his eating habits and training routine.

The pair stayed in touch over the phone and eight weeks later Gibson spoke of the amazing results he had seen.

He said: ‘My spare tyre I couldn’t get rid of, I tried all kinds of diets. In eight weeks, I’ve lost 14kg (30.8lbs) and all my clothes fit, my back doesn’t hurt anymore, I sleep better.

‘It was pretty miraculous really.’

Brad Pitt

His recent turn in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood earned him an Oscar – and plenty of swooning from fans all over the world over his chiseled physique.

Despite being 55, Pitt was more than able to pull off a scene where he does little else but take of his shirt on a rooftop and flex his muscles.

The superstar first honed his physique in the 1990s by using bodybuilder-style muscle group isolation training for roles such as charismatic troublemaker Tyler Durden in Fight Club.

Fast forward to 2020 and the superstar is currently believed to be self-isolating during the coronavirus crisis at his compound in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles.

It features lots of fun sporting equipment including a skatepark, thought to be mainly used by the six kids Pitt shares with Angelina Jolie.

But while skateboarding is certainly good for overall fitness, it’s not the kind of exercise that gets you the bulging muscles Pitt still boasts.

For his first Oscar-winning role, Pitt trained in martial arts daily on set with Quentin Tarantino’s stunt coordinator Zoë Bell and fight coordinator Rob Alonzo.

Each day would start with a warmup which Alonzo calls ‘yoga for combat’ which is based on martial arts positions such as horse stance, back stance and front stance.

Alonzo said: ‘It’s more than a warmup or a stretch.

‘It was a way for him to prepare mentally, and it’s also great for conditioning. If you’re doing it right, you’re sweating by the end.

‘I knew that if Brad learned the principles of martial arts—like timing, spatial awareness, and range—he would be able to flow in the scenes much more naturally, like a real fighter would.’

It’s not known if Pitt has continued to practice these moves since then. But there’s no question he’s still doing it right when it comes to his physical fitness.

Mr. T

Mr. T – real name Lawrence Tureaud – made his reputation in the 1980s as the muscle-bound hard man BA Baracus in hit TV show The A-Team and ex-convict boxer Clubber Lang in Rocky III.

The now 67-year-old gained his reputation for physical toughness as a high school wrestling champ, US Army military police officer and nightclub bouncer in his native Chicago.

He even tried out for the Green Bay Packers of the NFL but failed to make the team due to a knee injury.

After serving as a bodyguard to celebs such as Michael Jackson, Steve McQueen and Diana Ross he was spotted by Sylvester Stallone on NBC’s ‘America’s Toughest Bouncer’ competition in 1980 and given his big break in Hollywood.

Famous for his Mandinka warrior-style haircut, the star also had a successful wrestling career and was Hulk Hogan’s tag team partner at the first ever WrestleMania in 1985.

Although recent pics of Mr. T emerging from coronavirus lockdown near his home in Los Angeles show his heyday is long behind him, you still would still have to pity the fool who tried to mess with him.

The dad-of-three told Muscle & Fitness magazine in January 2016: ‘When people ask me why I still train so hard, I say, ”I stay ready so I don’t have to get ready”

Even after successfully battling to defeat a rare form of cancer known as T-cell lymphoma, the old school kickass continues to carry out intense workouts in his garage.

The dad-of-three told Muscle & Fitness magazine in January 2016: ‘When people ask me why I still train so hard, I say, ”I stay ready so I don’t have to get ready.”

‘It surprises a lot of people, but I’m not a heavy lifter. I only use 25-pound dumbbell,’ he added.

‘When I was younger we weren’t privileged so we couldn’t go to a gym that had a lot of equipment.

‘We did pushups and pullups and situps. I still do 100 pushups, 100 situps, and use dumbbells for maybe four sets of 15 to 20 reps.’

Meghan Markle

The Duchess of Sussex has been through an intense period of change since she and Prince Harry announced they were leaving the Royal Family in January.

But if one thing is certain to remain the same it is the 38-year-old’s commitment to her health and fitness.

Before becoming royalty, the now ex-Duchess eagerly documented her workout regime on Instagram and now defunct lifestyle blog The Tig.

Now she is self-isolating somewhere in Los Angeles with Prince Harry and their baby son Archie, she is certain to be sticking to similar methods to stay healthy.

The Duchess of Sussex has been getting fresh air in her new Los Angeles neighborhood during quarantine, seen out last month walking her dogs

Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland is a yoga instructor and the Duchess has spoken about how the practice is in her blood.

She said: ‘I love an intense vinyasa class — and even better if it’s blasting hip-hop and done in a dark room with candlelight.’

Meghan is also a keen practitioner of pilates, describing the method as ‘hands down the best thing you could do for your body’.

She favors the Megaformer style which uses a machine to combine the toning of Pilates with the resistance of bodybuilding.

When she is not working on her yoga and pilates moves, the Duchess likes to run.

She told Women’s Health magazine in 2015: ‘Running has always been my form of moving meditation, which I relish because it allows me to get out of my head.’

Meghan is known for loving yoga and being a keen practitioner of pilates and running. But most recently has been seen taking her dogs for long hikes for exercise

More recently, the Duchess has been spotted keeping healthy by taking her dogs for long hikes in Los Angeles and near her and Harry’s previous bolthole in Vancouver Island, Canada.

Meghan’s former personal trainer during her Suits days in Toronto, Craig McNamee, said it best when he explained: ‘Meghan Markle’s fitness definitely takes priority, she’s very focused on her health.

‘When she gets to the gym, there’s no real complaining.

‘She gets down to business right away and really enjoys it.’

Jackie Stallone

Sylvester Stallone’s mom is 98-years-old – but she isn’t letting that or the COVID-19 crisis get in the way of keeping fit.

Jackie is well known not only as the action hero’s mom but as one of the most energetic elderly ladies on the planet.

During her youth she was a trapeze artist in a circus and has claimed that had she not been put in the same wagon as a female snake trainer she would still be in that line of work.

Now she is even keeping her 25,000 fans updated on her workout routine through Instagram as she shelters at home in Los Angeles with third husband Stephen Levine.

Last month she posted a photo of herself in the gym, with the caption: ‘I’m staying fit, I am studying the accordion dail

On April 17 she posted a photo which showed her wearing a headband and her trademark heavy makeup while holding up a dumbbell and a medicine ball.

She wrote: ‘I’m staying fit, I am studying the accordion daily, I think I know as much as my teacher does.’ Good to know she’s not bored.

The astrologer and psychic is a fan of reformer Pilates, which uses a bed-like frame with a flat platform that rolls back and forth on wheels.

Reformer work focuses on core strength and improves back pain, injury recovery, balance and posture.

Before the coronavirus outbreak Jackie shared a video of herself doing the exercise with the caption ’98 years young’.

The former UK Celebrity Big Brother contestant also continued to attend tap dancing classes before California’s shelter at home order.

In 2014 she was pictured doing a CrossFit circuit with her grandson Edmund D’Alto.

She barely broke a sweat as she lifted weights, medicine balls and kettle-bell swings during the arduous workout.

Asked about tips for staying healthy at her age, Jackie said: ‘I use a bag of spinach a day, every morning for breakfast I steam a bowl of it and boil an egg on it.

‘That’s the secret to my longevity.’

Matthew McConaughey

Oscar-winner McConaughey is one of the fittest male stars working in Hollywood – and already preferred working out at home before the coronavirus outbreak.

The Dallas Buyers Club star, 50, is currently holed up with his wife Camila Alves and their three kids at his home in Austin, Texas.

In a recent message urging students at the University of Texas to self-isolate, McConaughey showed that his healthy approach to life hasn’t changed one bit during the crisis.

Speaking as his alma mater’s ‘Minister of Culture’ and a professor at the university, McConaughey advised youngsters in his trademark velvety Southern drawl to ‘stay home, hook ’em, and just keep living’.

Staying home while keeping up with his fitness regime certainly shouldn’t be too hard for the star.

Speaking in 2011 to Men’s Fitness magazine, he gave a rundown of exercises he likes to use for his stay at home fitness routine.

It included doing pull ups on his kids’ swing set, sprints in the backyard, pushups, one-legged squats and a kettlebell workout in the driveway.

Unfortunately other forms of outdoors exercise enjoyed by the star – such as surfing and cycling – will have to wait until lockdown is over.

Gunnar Peterson, who worked with McConaughey for years, praised him for his ‘work ethic’ when it comes to training.

He said: ‘He’s incredibly diligent, very knowledgeable about the body and exercise, and more than a lot of people knowledgeable about his own capabilities.

‘He’ll know how far he can push his body, he knows he can get his body to this and it’s not cockiness, it’s a confidence. It’s knowledge of self and he’s so dialed and so tuned in, it’s super fun to work with him.’

The Texan is so committed to fitness that he even funds an afterschool program for some of the America’s most vulnerable inner-city teens.
